As
your new President for the
NV Chapter, I would like to
express my sincere thank you
to the Board of Directors
and current members of the
Chapter who have helped
promote and support this
Chapter over the years. The
service you provide does not
go unnoticed and it is
greatly
appreciated. Without your
support, we would not be
heading in the right
direction.
Over the past few years, the
Chapter has been faced with
many challenges during these
tough
economic times. With travel
and training restraints
being administered by public/private
companies looking to stretch
their budget, we have seen a
constant decline in both the
training
seminar attendance as well
as membership. It is with
that in mind that the
Chapter will continue
to ensure that training and
membership costs are kept to
a minimum for its members.
We have some great training
lined up for our members
through to the end of 2012.
We have just
recently implemented the
bi-monthly "Lunch & Learn"
meetings for the Las Vegas
area and the
other regions are following
suit. We are currently in
the process of implementing
the IAAI
Expert Witness, Courtroom
Testimony Training for the
first quarter of 2012 in LV
and
eventually we plan to have
one implemented in Carson
City. In addition, we will
be offering the
National Fire Academy
Training (R-205), Wild Land
Fire Investigation Training
and we are
planning to hold the annual
training seminar in Las
Vegas during October of
2012.
I challenge all board
members in our regions to
get the word out that
"membership has its
privileges" and to also
develop and implement
specialized training in your
local areas. I also
challenge each member to
become actively involved
with the NV Chapter. After
all, it's Your
Chapter! We would love to
hear from you. The NV
Chapter is continually
dedicated to
improving your professional
development as a Fire
Investigator and build on
the relationships of
the Chapter members to help
foster excellence in both
the public/private sectors
within our
community.
In closing, I would like to
thank you for the
opportunity to serve as
President of this Chapter. I
look forward to all the
changes and the
accomplishments yet to come
that will help pave the way
for the betterment of this
Chapter. I encourage all
members to voice their
concerns or ideas on
the Chapter's website.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey D.
Robinson
President
Nevada Chapter IAAI
